External Antennas for Bluegiga Access Servers In addition to the standard single and three-radio versions of the Access Server - which have internal antenna - the 2291-EXT and 2293-EXT are specifically designed for use with external Bluetooth antennas.These products facilitate mounting the Access Server in an alternative location, or, with additional antennas, improvement in the Bluetooth communication range. The Access Server 2291-EXT and 2293-EXT are supplied with Reverse-Polarity-SMA connectors for each Bluetooth antenna connection, and a suitable antenna for direct connection to the Access Server. The supplied antenna - a 1/2 wave dipole with 'knuckle' - provides an enhanced range in many installations. In addition to the supplied antennas, it is possible to remotely mount alternative antenna's to further enhance the range, or allow Access Server re-location. BT Blade - Order Code: FBT35009-SM-1K (1m cable) The BT-Blade is a thin blade antenna for the 2.4 GHz frequency band. It is a ground-plane independent design, and has a waterproof cover to make the antenna more durable. This makes it ideal for discrete fixed or mobile applications. |

Z-TOP - Order Code: FZTP35095-SFP-xx The Z-Top is a very low profile 2.4 GHz external antenna which measures approximately 83mm in diameter and approx 14mm in height. The Z-Top, offers an omni-directional radiation pattern and max 1.0 dBi gain. It is supplied with a SMA-Female Bulkhead connector underneath, designed to allow a stable fixing through a suitable hole. The Z-Top is ideal for applications such as kiosks and where an external antenna should attract as little attention as possible or where it will be deployed marginally above the eye-line. Z-Top is available in a black or white radome. |

Telex - Order Code: Telex-2401AA This antenna is an excellent choice for a low profile directional antenna. It is designed to be mounted to a flat surface or attached to mast brackets. The directional patch element is designed for frequencies of 2400 MHz to 2500 MHz and has a 8.5 dBi gain when measured at the standard Type N coax connector. This gain requires a suitable reduction in output power, in order to comply with Bluetooth Certification, after taking into account the associated losses in additional connectors and cabling. |
